We present a Sage implementation of Ore algebras. The main features for the most common instances include basic arithmetic and actions; gcrd and lclm; D-finite closure properties; natural transformations between related algebras; guessing; desingularization; solvers for polynomials, rational functions and (generalized) power series. This paper is a tutorial on how to use the package.

Stockpiling and blending play a major role in maintaining the quantity and quality of the raw materials fed into processing plants, especially the cement, iron ore and steel making, and coal-fired power generation industries that usually require a much uniformed feed. Due to the variable nature of such materials, they even come from the same source and the produced ores or concentrates are seld...

We show that Ore operators can be desingularized by calculating a least common left multiple with a random operator of appropriate order. Our result generalizes a classical result about apparent singularities of linear differential equations, and it gives rise to a surprisingly simple desingularization algorithm.

The drum agglomeration of nickel laterite and gold ores has been optimized through the design of experiments (DOE) using a Taguchi L16 (45) orthogonal array to determine the optimum conditions for maximizing average agglomerate size and minimizing the amount of fines. The effects of controllable operating factors including moisture content (nickel laterite ore: 34-37%; gold ore: 7-10%), retenti...

A native microorganism, Penicillium citrinum was isolated from the top soil of a manganese mine. Based on its efficiency for manganese solubilisation, it was utilized for the leaching of a low-grade manganese ore. The effects of various parameters such as pulp density, particle size, sucrose concentration, inoculum size and bioleaching duration on manganese ore were studied. The optimised condi...

While the number and size of Semantic Web knowledge bases increases, their maintenance and quality assurance are still difficult. In this article, we present ORE, a tool for repairing and enriching OWL ontologies. State-ofthe-art methods in ontology debugging and supervised machine learning form the basis of ORE and are adapted or extended so as to work well in practice. ORE supports the detect...

We review some of the basi guidelines used to plan, exe ute and analyse multield observations at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory millimeter wave array. As a working example we dis uss our observations of the inner 50.5 50.5 of the Serpens loud ore. The results of our observation...

The relative proportions of metal residing in ore in the lithosphere, in use in products providing services, and in waste deposits measure our progress from exclusive use of virgin ore toward full dependence on sustained use of recycled metal. In the U.S. at present, the copper contents of these three repositories are roughly equivalent, but metal in service continues to increase. Providing tod...

The isotopic composition of mercury (Hg) was determined in cinnabar ore, mine-waste calcine (retorted ore), and leachates obtained from water leaching experiments of calcine from two large Hg mining districts in the U.S. This study is the first to report significant mass-dependent Hg isotopic fractionation between cinnabar ore and resultant calcine. Data indicate that delta202Hg values relative...

This study investigates an unusual source of environmental lead contamination - the emission and deposition of lead and zinc concentrates along train lines into and out of Australia's oldest silver-lead-zinc mine at Broken Hill, Australia. Transport of lead and zinc ore concentrates from the Broken Hill mines has occurred for more than 125 years, during which time the majority was moved in unco...
