We report the complete genome sequence of Acidovorax sp. strain KKS102, a polychlorinated-biphenyl-degrading strain isolated from a soil sample in Tokyo. The genome contains a single circular 5,196,935-bp chromosome and no plasmids.

The crystal structure of a "coplanar" polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) derivative, 4-methoxy-3, 3', 5'-trichlorobiphenyl (C13H9Cl3O), is described. The torsion angle of the title compound is 41.31(07) degrees, which is in good agreement with the calculated torsion angle of 38.2 degrees in aqueous solution.

Pseudomonas toyotomiensis KF710 utilizes biphenyl and degrades polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Here, we report the genome sequence of the KF710 strain, consisting of 5,596,721 bp with 5,155 coding sequences. The biphenyl catabolic genes were almost identical to those of Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707, one of the most well-characterized biphenyl-utilizing strains.
