OBJECTIVE This research systematically evaluated the use of a clinically proven desensitizing dentifrice prior to a bleaching regimen in a randomized, multi-center, parallel group, open label clinical study following Good Clinical Practice guidelines. METHODOLOGY Fourteen dental offices in West Palm Beach, Florida participated in the study during April/May 2004. Fourteen days prior to bleachi...

To study the effect of potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate and kaolin (Aluminum silicate) on pomegranate cv. Wonderful, this was conducted during 2020–2021 to investigate possibility minimizing percentages sunburn fruit cracking ameliorating yield quality aforementioned period. Four sprays consisting at 1%, 2% 3%, 2%, 3% 4%, 4% 6% water only (control) were sprayed trees May, July, August. The re...

nitrogen (n) affects adversely the tobacco yield quantity and quality as it increases yield, chlorine and nicotine contents, but decrease potassium content. this experiment was aimed at optimization of (the balance between) n concentration in leaf, stem and root to increase both yield quantity and quality (high potassium, low chlorine and medium nicotine contents) using artificial neural networ...

In a pot experiment Ricinus communis plants were cultivated in quartz sand and supplied daily with a nutrient solution which contained 4 mol m(-3) nitrate as the nitrogen source and either full strength potassium (1.3 mol m(-3), control) or 8% potassium (0.1 mol m(-3), K(+)-limitation). Although the final fresh weight of the whole plant was not affected by K(+)-limitation, the root-shoot ratio ...

Groundwater pollution by nitrate is a worldwide problem. To evaluate the performance of fuzzy regression method and support vector machines (SVM) for estimating the nitrate concentration, an analysis was conducted. In this research, 175 observation wells in Isfahan province, Iran, were selected and the concentration of nitrate, potassium, magnesium, sodium, chlorine, bicarbonate, sulphate, calc...

Photoreactivation is the repair of ultraviolet radiation damage in a biological system with light of wavelength longer than that of the damaging radiation (Jagger1). A wide variety of ultraviolet induced effects may be reversed by photoreactiva tion, including killing, mutations, division delay, block in the DNA synthesis, etc. Such photoreactiva tion effects generally involve the photoenzyma...

Nitric oxide (NO) is a potent vasodilator that increases blood flow and induces various intracellular actions such as increased mitochondrial and contractile efficiency. NO bioavailability may be increased by direct consumption of dietary nitrate and its sequential reduction to nitrite, a regulator of NO-induced hypoxic signaling. Dietary nitrate consumption reduces blood pressure, protects fro...

generally interpreted as an indication of "complex ions" (which is another way of saying that a simple model with only three ionic species is inadequate) . The small absolute value of r12 in the A g N 0 3 — K N 0 3 mixture makes the experimental uncertainty more important. Thus the positive value at 380 °C indicates that also the value at 340 °C should be (small and) positive (since increased t...

For forty years researchers on ferroelectric switching have used the Kay-Dunn theory to model the thickness-dependence of the coercive field; it works surprisingly well, despite the fact that it is based upon homogeneous nucle-ation and a small-field expansion, neither of which is realized in thin films. Here we demonstrate that this result can be obtained from a more general Kolmogorov-Avrami ...

Uranyl complexes of a bis(methylterephthalamide) ligand (LH(4)) have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The structure is an unexpected [Me(4)N](8)[L(UO(2))](4) tetramer, formed via coordination of the two MeTAM units of L to two uranyl moieties. Addition of KOH to the tetramer gave the corresponding monomeric uranyl methoxide species [Me(4)N]K(2)[LUO(2)(OMe)].
