Overuse of antimicrobials in livestock health and production beyond therapeutic needs has been highlighted recent years as one the major risk factors for acceleration antimicrobial resistance (AMR) bacteria both humans animals. While there is an abundance reports on AMR clinical isolates from humans, information regarding patterns animals scarce. Hence, a situational analysis based veterinary d...
The review article provides up-to-date scientific information on the characteristics, classification and mechanisms of biological action pro-, pre- synbiotics in digestive tract ruminants. literature sources recent years influence synbiotic supplements (when adding them to diets ruminants) metabolic processes body, intensity growth, development quality products obtained from domestic ruminant a...
the branches of external carotid artery were dissected and studied in six one humped camels.these specimens were preparated from slaughterhouse and fixed in10% formaline. the common carotid artery in one humped camel is divided into three branches , including , occipital artery , internal carotid artery and external carotid artery which in this respect it was similar to that of equine. external...
Subgenotype analysis of Cryptosporidium isolates from humans, cattle, and zoo ruminants in Portugal.
Cryptosporidium parvum and Cryptosporidium hominis isolates from human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients, cattle, and wild ruminants were characterized by PCR and DNA sequencing analysis of the 60-kDa glycoprotein gene. Seven alleles were identified, three corresponding to C. hominis and four corresponding to C. parvum. One new allele was found (IId), and one (IIb) had only been found in...
The author demonstrates that rinderpest prevailed among the cattle population in the Al-Ain region of the United Arab Emirates from 1987 to 1989. A total of twenty-four outbreaks of rinderpest were recorded during the study period. Similarly, evidence of the peste des petits ruminants (PPR) or a PPR-like disease was regularly encountered in small ruminants in a total of forty-one outbreaks.
On-field trial was conducted in dairy animals to evaluate efficacy of Styplon Vet Bolus (M/s Himalaya Drug Company, Banglore, India) as supportive therapy in management of hemorrhagic conditions (Hematuria, hemoagalectia, bleeding wounds, uterine bleeding and epistaxis) of ruminants. Styplon Vet 1-2 boli twice daily was administered to cows and buffaloes, and 1⁄2 bolus twice daily for sheep til...
Infection with gastro-intestinal nematodes (GIN) is one of the most prevalent diseases affecting small ruminants in the tropics. Mixed grazing between sheep and cattle reduces infection of the small ruminants and improves growth performances (Mahieu et al., 1997). Also, it is possible to select Creole goats on resistance to GIN during the post weaning growth and the periparturient period (Mando...
Functional Feeds It is well known that the value of clover is in nitrogen. Clovers fix their own nitrogen so that an input of nitrate fertilizer is not required. Furthermore, they are rich in protein-nitrogen, and can be used to meet the protein requirements of ruminants. Clovers also contain a class of chemicals called isoflavones, and we have recently discovered evidence that the isoflavones ...
Serological methods were utilized to detect Anaplasma and Ehrlichia infection in domestic animals in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. By using an indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA), antibodies that reacted with Anaplasmaphagocytophilum and Ehrlichiachaffeensis were detected mainly in ruminants kept on pastureland in Altai, Ili and Kashgar area. Antibody titers up to 1:320 were reco...
