A continuum means comp6lct, connected metric space. A hereditarily unicoherent and arcwise connected continuum is called a dendroid. It follows that it is hereditarily decomposable ([2], (47), p. 239). A hereditarily unicoherent and hereditarily decomposable continuum is said to be a A.-dendroid. Thus, every dendroid is a }.-dendroid and an arcwise connected A.-dendroid is a dendroid. Note that...

In the Rubber Hand Illusion, the feeling of ownership of a rubber hand displaced from a participant's real occluded hand is evoked by synchronously stroking both hands with paintbrushes. A change of perceived finger location towards the rubber hand (proprioceptive drift) has been reported to correlate with this illusion. To measure the time course of proprioceptive drift during the Rubber Hand ...

We propose two inexact parallel splitting algorithms for computing the resolvent of a weighted sum of maximal monotone operators in a Hilbert space and show their strong convergence. We start by establishing new results on the asymptotic behavior of the Douglas-Rachford splitting algorithm for the sum of two operators. These results serve as a basis for the first algorithm. The second algorithm...

<p style='text-indent:20px;'>This paper is concerned with a nonlocal time-space periodic reaction diffusion model age structure. We first prove the existence and global attractivity of solution for model. Next, by family principal eigenvalues associated linear operators, we characterize asymptotic speed spread in monotone non-monotone cases. Furthermore, introduce notion transition semi-w...

In our work the phenomena determining the performance of semiconductor devices are examined. We use computer simulations based on semi-classical drift-diffusion model. Our aim is to numerically solve a system of three nonlinear elliptic differential equations. For computations, we use a coupled Newton method, with a modification taking advantage of a simple iteration.

We analyze the performance of the greedy algorithm, and also a discrete semi-gradient based algorithm, for maximizing the sum of a suBmodular and suPermodular (BP) function (both of which are non-negative monotone non-decreasing) under two types of constraints, either a cardinality constraint or p ≥ 1 matroid independence constraints. These problems occur naturally in several real-world applica...

A Chernoff-type distribution is a nonnormal defined by the slope at zero of greatest convex minorant two-sided Brownian motion with polynomial drift. While known to appear as distributional limit in many nonregular statistical estimation problems, accuracy approximations has remained largely unknown. In present paper, we tackle this problem and derive Berry–Esseen bounds for distributions canon...

In this paper we study the excursion time of a Brownian motion with drift outside a corridor by using a four-state semi-Markov model. In mathematical finance, these results have an important application in the valuation of double-barrier Parisian options. We subsequently obtain an explicit expression for the Laplace transform of its price.

In this work, it is presented iterative schemes for achieving to common points of the solutions set of the system of generalized mixed equilibrium problems, solutions set of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly monotone operator, common fixed points set of two infinite sequences of relatively nonexpansive mappings and common zero points set of two finite sequences of maximal monot...

In this paper, we first introduce a monotone mapping and its resolvent in general metric spaces. Then, we give two new iterative methods  by combining the resolvent method with Halpern's iterative method and viscosity approximation method for  finding a fixed point of monotone mappings and a solution of variational inequalities. We prove convergence theorems of the proposed iterations  in ...
