Two-point boundary value problem is considered for a second order fuzzy differential equation. This problem is reformulated to four different system of crisp boundary value problems, when fuzzy derivative is considered as a generalization of the Hderivative [1]. So, this problem has four different solutions. Numerical solution of each system is obtained by applying the shooting method. Numerica...

A time-domain shooting method based coupled device and circuit simulator suitable for accurate simulation of RF circuits is presented. The simulator supports accurate numerical models for diodes, BJTs, and MOSFETs. These combined with the accelerated steady-state method allow accurate and efficient steady-state simulation of RF circuits.

We investigate the problem of free convection heat transfer near an isothermal stretching sheet. This has been done under the simultaneous action of buoyancy, radiation, and transverse magnetic field. The governing equations are solved by the shooting method. The velocity and temperature functions are represented graphically for various values of the flow parameters: radiation parameter F, free...

An algorithm for identifying parameters in dynamical systems is developed in this work using homotopy transformations and the single-shooting method. The equations governing the dynamics of the mathematical model are augmented with observer-like homotopy terms that smooth the objective function. As a result, premature convergence to a local minimum is avoided and the obtained parameter estimate...

We present a numerical method for computing the pure-point spectrum associated with the linear stability of multi-dimensional travelling fronts to parabolic nonlinear systems. Our method is based on the Evans function shooting approach. Transverse to the direction of propagation we project the spectral equations onto a finite Fourier basis. This generates a large, linear, one-dimensional system...

This paper proposes a new selection mechanism in evolutionary algorithm for fuzzy systems that can be applied to robot learning of shooting ability in robot soccer. In generic evolutionary algorithms, evaluation and selection are performed on the chromosome level, where a selected chromosome may include non-effective or bad genes. This may lead to an increase in the uncertainty of the solutions...

The centrifugal shooting type polishing machine is a recently developed apparatus that seeks to improve the efficiency and environment of polishing removable prostheses. In an attempt to optimize the effectiveness of this apparatus, this study examined the influence of the shooting angle of polishing particle on the surface roughness of cobalt-chromium alloy casting specimens. Polishing was per...

In the present investigation, shooting methods are described for numerically solving nonlinear stochastic boundary-value problems. These stochastic shooting methods are analogous to standard shooting methods for numerical solution of ordinary deterministic boundary-value problems. It is shown that the shooting methods provide accurate approximations. An error analysis is performed and computati...

Complex pursuit-evasion games with state variable inequality constraints are investigated. Necessary conditions of the first and the second order for optimal trajectories are developed, which enable the calculation of optimal open-loop strategies. The necessary conditions on singular surfaces induced by state constraints and nonsmooth data are discussed in detail. These conditions lead to multi...
