Tthis paper, is concerned with obtaining numerical solutions for a class of convection-diffusion equations (CDEs) with variable coefficients. Our approaches are based on collocation methods. These approaches implementing all four kinds of shifted Chebyshev polynomials in combination with Sinc functions to introduce an approximate solution for CDEs . This approximate solution can be expressed as...

This paper presents meshfree method for solving systems of linear Volterra integro-differential equations with initial conditions. This approach is based on collocation method using Sinc basis functions. It's well-known that the Sinc approximate solution converges exponentially to the exact solution. Some numerical results are included to show the validity of this method.

Green’s functions represent the scattering behaviour of a particular geometry and are required to propagate acoustic disturbances through complex geometries using integral methods. The versatility of existing integral methods of acoustic propagation may be greatly increased by using numerical Green’s functions computed for more general geometries. We investigate the use of the Sinc-Galerkin met...

A collocation procedure is developed for the initial value problem u′(t) = f(t, u(t)), u(0) = 0, using the globally defined sinc basis functions. It is shown that this sinc procedure converges to the solution at an exponential rate, i.e., O(M2 exp(−κ √ M)) where κ > 0 and 2M basis functions are used in the expansion. Problems on the domains R = (−∞,∞) and R+ = (0,∞) are used to illustrate the i...

SINC, a new type III secreted protein of the avian and human pathogen Chlamydia psittaci, uniquely targets the nuclear envelope of C. psittaci-infected cells and uninfected neighboring cells. Digitonin-permeabilization studies of SINC-GFP-transfected HeLa cells indicate that SINC targets the inner nuclear membrane. SINC localization at the nuclear envelope was blocked by importazole, confirming...

A collocation procedure is developed for the linear and nonlinear Volterra integral equations, using the globally defined Sinc and auxiliary basis functions. We analytically show the exponential convergence of the Sinc collocation method for approximate solution of Volterra integral equations. Numerical examples are included to confirm applicability and justify rapid convergence of our method.

In this paper, a numerical procedure for solving a class of nonlinear VolterraFredholm integral equations is presented. The method is based upon the globally defined sinc basis functions. Properties of the sinc procedure are utilized to reduce the computation of the nonlinear integral equations to some algebraic equations. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and appli...

A Gaussian-Sinc basis set methodology is presented for the calculation of the electronic structure of atoms and molecules at the Hartree-Fock level of theory. This methodology has several advantages over previous methods. The all-electron electronic structure in a Gaussian-Sinc mixed basis spans both the "localized" and "delocalized" regions. A basis set for each region is combined to make a ne...

Some properties of sinc-approximations of continuous functions on a segment are studied. For the first time, the sinc-approximations arose in the work of Pleynet. Later, in connection with developments in signals coding theory, E. Borel and E. T. Whittaker introduced the notions of a cardinal function and a truncated cardinal function, the restriction of which to [0, π] looks like this:

A series of problems in different fields such as physics and chemistry are modeled by differential equations. Differential equations are divided into partial differential equations and ordinary differential equations which can be linear or nonlinear. One approach to solve those kinds of equations is using orthogonal functions into spectral methods. In this paper, we firstly describe Laguerre, H...
