Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare thermal stress on various restorative post and core materials generated by oral temperature changes using three dimensional finite element analysis. Materials and Methods: Three dimensional model of a mandibular right first premolar restored with a metal-ceramic crown and a dowel – core system was constructed. The thermal load applied...

The global phase structure of the D = 10 heterotic thermal string ensemble is studied through the infrared behaviour of the one-loop dual symmetric cosmological constant in proper reference to the thermal duality symmetry as well as the thermal stability of modular invariance within the general framework of the thermofield dynamics.

High resolution thermal infrared imaging is a pioneering method giving indices of sympathetic activity via the contact-free recording of facial tissues (thermal imprints). Compared to established stress markers, the great advantage of this method is its non-invasiveness. The goal of our study was to pilot the use of thermal infrared imaging in the classical setting of human stress research. The...

electro-thermo-elastic stress analysis of piezoelectric polymeric thick-walled cylinder reinforced by boronnitride nanotubes (bnnts) subjected to electro-thermo-mechanical fields is presented in this article. the electro-thermo-elastic properties of piezoelectric fiber reinforced composite (pefrc) was studied by a modified xy micromechanical model capable of exhibiting full coupling relation be...

Large changes in hysteresis are reported as a function of applied stress under thermal cycling experiments in NiTi single crystals. In the low Ni alloy the thermal hysteresis expanded with increasing stress while in the high Ni alloy the thermal hysteresis contracted with increasing stress. The results in both cases meet the limit obtained from Differential Scanning Calorimetry at zero stress. ...

an attempt was made to investigate the thermal and residual stress distribution in a novel three layer (la 2 zr 2 o 7 / 8ysz/ nicraly) during a real-like heating regime which includes heating, service time and final cooling. for achieving maximum accuracy and consistency in calculation of thermal and mechanical properties of hybrid coating system, all related andrequired properties were introdu...

Four muhiparous ovariectomized ewes, fitted with electromagnetic blood flow transducers around one mid-uterine artery, were utilized in two latin square design C.xperiments to evaluate interrelationships of thermal stress and epinephrine on an increase in uterine blood flow (UBF) induced by estradiol. Estradiol (20 /ag) was injected into the femoral vein and the subsequent induced increase in U...

A patterning method for the generation of epitaxial CoSi2 nanostructures was developed based on anisotropic diffusion of Co/Si atoms in a stress field during rapid thermal oxidation (RTO). The stress field is generated along the edge of a mask consisting of a thin SiO2 layer and a Si3N4 layer. During RTO of the masked silicide structure, a well-defined separation of the silicide layer forms alo...

Much of our understanding of the thermal physiology of intertidal organisms comes from experiments with animals acclimated under constant conditions and exposed to a single heat stress. In nature, however, the thermal environment is more complex. Aerial exposure and the unpredictable nature of thermal stress during low tides may be critical factors in defining the thermal physiology of intertid...

This paper addresses the combined effects of couple stresses, thermal radiation, viscous dissipation and slip condition on a free convective flow of a couple stress fluid induced by a vertical stretching sheet. The Cogley- Vincenti-Gilles equilibrium model is employed to include the effects of thermal radiation in the study. The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into a system o...
