This paper presents, formalises and classifies working time accounts (WTAs), a means of achieving flexible production capacity through the flexible organisation of working time. We propose linear programming models to plan working time, using WTA, at companies in the service industry. A computational experiment shows that the models can be solved for any planning problems of reasonable size.

Abstract: Multiple targets tracking with a GMTI is a challenging problem for the battlefield surveillance. A new algorithm is used in order to track multiple manoeuvring ground targets with road constraint. However, the case of nondetected targets due to the ground context is not tacking in account in the target tracking process. In this paper, we present our approach to track ground targets wi...

We present a model for classification performance estimation for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) automatic target recognition. We adopt a model-based approach, in which classification is performed by comparing a feature vector extracted from a measured SAR image chip with a feature vector predicted from a hypothesized target class and pose. The feature vectors are compared using a Bayes likeliho...

Facial animation of 3D characters is frequently a time-consuming and repetitive process that involves either skeleton-rigging or pose-setting for morph targets. A major issue of concern is the necessity to repeat similar tasks for different models, re-creating the same animation system for several faces. Thus there is a need for reusable methods and tools that allow the introduction of automati...

as polysemy is encountered frequently in english as foreign language. fl learners’ ability to disambiguate polysemous verbs becomes critical to their comprehension in the target language. this thesis, accordingly, investigated how iranian efl learners achieved comprehension of english polysemous verbs by using three different types of cues: (1) elaborated context, (2) semantic frames, and (...

The forward binding rate of chemical reactions is the reciprocal of the mean time for a Brownian molecule to hit its molecular target. When the target is embedded in the surface of a microdomain, this time is known as the narrow escape time, and it has been computed for various geometries. However, for large targets that extend from the surface far into the cytosol the classical computations do...

Target detection is one of the important elements of Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) systems. In this paper, we propose a new approach to detect outliers in radar returns, based on modelling the background using an empirical distribution rather than a parametric distribution. The key innovation lies in the use of the Characteristic Function (CF) to describe the distribution. The experimental...

This study examined the fear control/danger control responses that are predicted by the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM). In a campaign designed to inform college students about the symptoms and dangers of meningitis, participants were given either a high-threat/no-efficacy or high-efficacy/no-threat health risk message, thus testing the extreme assumptions of the EPPM. Although the study...

This publication is a follow-up study to MTI publication 00-01, Why Campaigns for Local Transportation Funding Initiatives Succeed or Fail: An Analysis of Four Communities and National Data. The earlier publication was case studies of four local ballot tax measures for transportation packages. The current study, Factors Influencing Voting Results of Local Transportation Funding Initiatives with...
