Genetically encoded fluorescent protein tags have revolutionized proteome studies, whereas the lack of intrinsically fluorescent RNAs has hindered transcriptome exploration. Among several RNA-fluorophore complexes that potentially address this problem, RNA Mango has an exceptionally high affinity for its thiazole orange (TO)-derived fluorophore, TO1-Biotin (Kd ∼3 nM), and, in complex with relat...

In the present work, we have synthesized thiazole-hydrazone conjugates 5(a–h) and characterized them using various analytical techniques such as UV, IR, NMR, mass spectrometry. Solvatochromic properties were evaluated in ten solvents with different polarity quantum chemical parameters a DFT study. The antibacterial activity results revealed that compounds 5c, 5d 5g exhibited good efficacy remai...

The synthetic utility of 3,3'-(3,4-dimethylthieno[2,3-b]thiophene-2,5-diyl)bis (3-oxopropanenitrile) (1) in the synthesis of some novel bis-[1,3,4-thiadiazole] 6a-g and bis-thiazole 10 and 13 derivatives with thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety is reported. Antimicrobial evaluation of some selected examples from the synthesized products was carried out and showed promising results.

Thiamine pyrophosphate is required as a coenzyme for several enzymatic reactions which result in the decarboxylation of cu-keto acids with the concomitant formation of corresponding aldehydes or their condensation products (a-keto alcohols). A number of investigators (l-3) have found that thiamine will catalyze the same reactions under mildly alkaline conditions in the absence of enzymes. This ...
