In this article, the cascade connection of two “buck” converters is examined from the perspective of differential flatness and Generalized Proportional Integral (GPI) observer–based control. The multi-variable nonlinear “buckbuck” converter is subject to unknown, time-varying, load current demands, at each one of the outputs of the two constitutive stages. The linear output feedback controllers...

This paper proposes a new location problem of competitive facilities, e.g. shops and stores, with uncertain demands in the plain. By representing the demands for facilities as random variables, the location problem is formulated to a stochastic programming problem, and it is reformulated to three deterministic programming problems: expectation maximizing problem, probability maximizing problem,...

This paper proposes a new location problem of competitive facilities, e.g. shops and stores, with uncertain demands in the plane. By representing the demands for facilities as random variables, the location problem is formulated to a stochastic programming problem, and for finding its solution, three deterministic programming problems: expectation maximizing problem, probability maximizing prob...

Intra-domain traffic engineering is essential for the operation of an Internet Service Provider. Demand-oblivious routing [2] promises excellent performance guarantee with changing and uncertain traffic demands. However, it is difficult to implement it. We investigate an efficient and deployable implementation of oblivious routing. We study its performance by both numerical experiments and simu...

This paper introduces a robust inventory routing problem where a supplier distributes a single product to multiple customers facing dynamic uncertain demands over a finite discrete time horizon. The probability distribution of the uncertain demand at each customer is not fully specified. The only available information is that these demands are independent and symmetric random variables which ca...

We describe an approach, based on artificial forms of selective attention, for overcoming the problem of information and interruption overload of intelligent agents. Inspired on natural selective attention studies, we propose a computational model of selective attention that relies on the assumption that uncertain, surprising and motive congruent/incongruent information demands attention from a...

We solve an agent’s optimization problem of meeting demands for cash over time with cash deposited in bank or invested in stock. The stock pays dividends and uncertain capital gains, and a commission is incurred in buying and selling of stock. We use a stochastic maximum principle to obtain explicitly the optimal transaction policy.

The prediction system of gold demands in China is faced with issues such as uncertain factors, limited historical data, and nonlinearity. In order to have a more accurate demands, method based on the integration grey Gaussian process regression proposed. Specifically, equal weights are assigned each model adopted reflect changing relationship indicating nonlinear impacts factors demands. Moreov...

This paper proposes a comprehensive, multi-objective, mixed-integer, nonlinear programming (MINLP) model for a cell formation problem (CFP) under fuzzy and dynamic conditions aiming at: (1) minimizing the total cost which consists of the costs of intercellular movements and subcontracting parts as well as the cost of purchasing, operation, maintenance and reconfiguration of machines, (2) maximi...

The uncertainty of the demands of grid applications can cause unpredicted performance and, consequently, can make ineffective schedules derived for target demand values. To produce effective results, schedulers need to take into account the difficulty in estimating the demands of applications. In this paper, a scheduler based on fuzzy optimization is proposed to deal with such uncertainties. It...
