Viewpoints-based approaches have been proposed as a way of managing inconsistent and incomplete information gathered from multiple sources [8]. These approaches separate the descriptions provided by different stakeholders, and concentrate on identifying and resolving conflicts between them. A key advantage to the use of viewpoints is that inconsistencies between viewpoints can be tolerated [7].

We study the problem of visibility in polyhedral terrains in the presence of multiple viewpoints. We consider three fundamental visibility structures: the visibility map, the colored visibility map, and the Voronoi visibility map. We study the complexity of each structure for both 1.5D and 2.5D terrains, and provide efficient algorithms to construct them. Our algorithm for the visibility map in...

Large-scale software development is an evolutionary process. In an evolving specification, multiple development participants often hold multiple, inconsistent views on the system being developed, and considerable effort is spent handling recurrent inconsistencies. Detecting and resolving inconsistencies is only part of the problem: a resolved inconsistency might not stay resolved as a specifica...

Proposed object-oriented approaches are still in an initial stage of investigation and are not powerfull enough to modelling Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) applications which manipulate ill-deened, evolving and multifaceted objects. In this paper, we argue in favour of a model, called CEDAR, which aims at easing the modelling process by endowing the object-oriented approach with a viewpoint notion.
