Promoted by diethyl azodicarboxylate, a novel and highly stereoselective synthesis of cis-β-enaminones via oxidative dehydrogenation and hydration of the substituted propargylamines was realized. The possible mechanism was also proposed.

An efficient method for the synthesis of β-enaminones and β-enaminoesters using a combination of [(PPh(3))AuCl]/AgOTf as catalyst has been developed. The reaction between 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and primary amines was carried out under solvent-free conditions with low catalyst loading in good to excellent yields at room temperature.

A gold(I) catalysed reaction between N-propargylic β-enaminones and arynes was developed to access 3-methylene-1-pyrrolines. The title compounds were obtained in 57-78% yields. This reaction is useful for the generation of substituted 1-pyrrolines exhibiting significant molecular complexity.

The reaction of dibenzoylacetylene with 4-alkylaminocoumarins in THF/H2O (50:50) lead to 4-(alkylamino)-3-(1,4-dioxo-1,4-diphenylbut-2-en-2-yl)-2H-chromen-2-one derivatives in good yields. When the reaction carried-out in DMSO the cyclized products 2-hydroxy-1-alkyl-3-(2-oxo-2-phenylethylidene)-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydrochromeno [4,3-b] pyrrol-4(1H)-ones were formed in good yields.
