abstract chickpea is weak in competition of weeds that damages to it at between 40 t0 60 percent. kermanshah province is one of the most important region for chickpea fields in iran. for these reosons, weed management is necessary in this crop. in order to evaluate of herbicides and stubble control on broad leave weeds control in chickpea. experiment was conducted in agricultural research station of mahidasht during 2008 – 2009 . treatments consisted of post emergence application of pyridate , imazatpyr . pyridate plus wheat stubble , and deremergance application of imazatapyr plus barly stubble , imazatapyr plus wheat and flex) , imazatapyr , prometryn , wheat stubble , barly stubble and weed free check. experiment was conducted as a randomized complete block design with twelve treatments and four replication was done in half of the plost . before , 15 and 30 days after post emergence treatments , weed density and dry weight and damage four dominet weeds and chickpea were feild bin weed ( convolvulus arvensis l . ) , wild safflowe ( carthamus oxyacanthus ) , licorice ( glycyrrhiza glabra l .) common lamb , s quars (chopodium album ) . the results showed that the treatment were significantly ( p < 5% ) different and the best treatment for controlling field binweed ( c.arvensis l.) density were pendimentalin , imaztaoyer (post) , prometryn and pyrdate plus wheat stubble (between 93% to 100 % ) . field bin weed dry weight was controled by pendimetalin , imaztapyer ( post ) , imazatapyr plus wheat stubble , at 100 percent . application of pendimetelin and wheat stubble plus imazatapyr were the best control for density and dry weight of common lamb ,s quars , wild safflower ( c. oxyacantus ) density controled by pendimetalin , barly stuble were satisfactory for its dry weight in to weed free check .application of imazatapyr ( post ) controled licorice (g. glabral l .) density at 100 percent its dry weight significantly decreased by pendimetalin and wheat stubble plas imazatapyr at 70 and 82 percent respectively .the chickpea yield was highest in wheat stubble plus imazatapyr and then pendimetalin at 88.7 and 95 percent respectively . on the whole , it seems that pndimetalin and imazatapyr plus wheat stubble have better performance than other treatments.
