We find the injective hulls of partially ordered monoids in the category whose objects are po-monoids and submultiplicative order-preserving functions. These injective hulls are with respect to a special class of monics called “embeddings”. We show as well that the injective objects with respect to these embeddings are precisely the quantales.

Biofouling, an undesirable accumulation of organisms on sea-immersed structures such as ship hulls and fishing nets, is a serious economic issue whose effects include oil wastage and clogged nets. Organotin compounds were utilized since the 1960s as an antifouling material; however, the use of such compounds was later banned by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) due to their high tox...

Biofouling is the undesirable accumulation of microorganisms, plants, algae and animals on submerged structures especially ship hulls. Biofouling also occurs on the surface of living marine organisms. It is also found on membrane systems such as membrane bioreactors and reverse osmosis spiral wound membranes. In the same manner, it is found in cooling water cycles of large industrial equipments...

Granite fines, sand, rice hulls, long wheat straw, and wood shavings were compared as bedding for 60 female dairy calves. Growth, health, stress indices, and behavior of newly born calves, along with physical characteristics and bacterial counts of bedding, were evaluated for 42 d during August to October, 2002. Overall average daily gain and dry matter intake of calves did not differ due to be...

Ice ridges and icebergs generally pose a major threat to both ships offshore facilities that operate in Polar regions. In many cases these features will govern the structural design loads associated with Ultimate Limit State (ULS) Accidental (ALS). general, large number of load must be considered order ascertain an adequate resistance. Alternatively, conservatively high values relevant paramete...

With the increasing application and study of lightweight high strength fiber reinforced polymer composites in ocean industry, structural failure problem composite pressure hulls has attracted great attention from many researchers China globally. Analysis mechanisms is foundational to design deep-sea hulls, since nowadays rules pressurized vessels mostly formulated according their modes. Hence, ...

Soybean hulls were evaluated as a resource for production of ethanol by the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process, and no pretreatment of the hulls was found to be needed to realize high ethanol yields with Saccharomyces cerevisiae D(5)A. The impact of cellulase, beta-glucosidase and pectinase dosages were determined at a 15% biomass loading, and ethanol concentrations of...

In cold regions, ice pressure poses a serious threat to the safe operation of ship hulls and fixed offshore platforms. this study, discrete element method (DEM) with bonded particles was adapted simulate generation distribution local pressures during interaction between level vertical structures. The strength failure mode simulated sea under uniaxial compression were consistent experimental res...

A cooperative regional research study using 194 sows, from which data were collected from 381 litters, was conducted at 3 research stations to determine the effects of added psyllium (a concentrated fiber source) or soybean hulls to gestation diets on reproductive performance of sows and preweaning performance of their pigs. Primiparous and multiparous sows were allotted to the 3 treatments of ...

Through the Loewner equation, real-valued driving functions generate sets called hulls. We analyze that approach 0 at least as fast \(a (T-t)^r\) \(t \to T\), where \(r \in (0, 1/2)\), and show corresponding hulls have tangential behavior time \(T\). also prove a result about trace existence apply it to driven by \(a(T-t)^r\) for (0,1/2)\) curve.
