چکیده

Abstract Introduction Bartholin glands (BGs) are located posteriorly on each side of the vaginal introitus. During sexual arousal, BGs release mucinous secretions into vestibule at 5:00 and 7:00 positions via a 2.5 cm duct (BD). The BD may become obstructed from trauma, inflammation, infection, vestibular or vulvar surgery, idiopathic factors. Despite obstruction, continue to produce secretion causing cystic dilation duct. Thus, cyst (BC) is formed can result in pain during arousal. Treatment strategies include sitz baths, hot compresses, aspiration, Word catheter placement, BC marsupialization. Objective This chart review was performed assess safety efficacy new technique for marsupialization patients with symptomatic BC. Methods who underwent using technique. strategy involves anterior wall BC, identification lumen posterior under surgical Loupes magnification advancement directly surface introitus and/or locations. neo-ostium secured interrupted 4.0 chromic sutures. The first reported case of pigmented Bartholin duct cyst.

Bartholin duct cyst is a relatively common benign lesion occurring in the labia minora and is of urogenital sinus origin [1, 2]. Bartholin duct cysts arising from the main duct are lined by urothelial or squamous epithelium, whereas those originating from an acinus are covered by mucinous columnar epithelium [1, 2]. Albeit extremely rare, pigmentation in an external genital cyst, such as median...

Smooth muscle neoplasms of the vulva masquerading as Bartholin gland duct cysts.

Smooth muscle neoplasms of the vulva can be mistaken for Bartholin duct cysts, which can lead to a delay in diagnosis. We present a case of vulvar leiomyoma and a case of leiomyosarcoma that clinically mimicked Bartholin duct cysts. Identification of leiomyosarcomas in this region is particularly important; due to the risk of recurrence, patients may need radiation and/or chemotherapy in additi...

The Bartholin family.

DURING a review of the aetiology of intlammation and cysts of Bartholin’s glands, interest was aroused in the discoverer of these glands. This led to a search of the literature and the tracing out of the history of a remarkable family of Danes, who flourished in the 17th and 18th centuries. The first of the line of medical interest was Caspar Bartholinus who lived from 1585 to 1629. He was born...
