3D Printing and Rapid Replication of Advanced Numerically Generated Rough Surface Topographies in Numerous Polymers

An approach to rapidly produce high quality polymer surface topographies from numerically generated surfaces is presented. The uses an advanced generation tool flexibly design with user defined topography characteristics over a large range of roughness. Roughness instances RMS roughness 25, 50, and 100 μm are studied. 3D printing used create master casting injection moulding employed enable rapid replication in various polymers. cross-correlation ratio (CCR) mean difference were assess quality. Injection provides high-throughput up CCR ≈ 0.74. While low-viscosity resins enables slightly improved high-quality (CCR ∽0.82) reduced through-put. Key results include the ability printed replicate tailored variations (e.g. amplitude frequency) importance low viscosity maximising casting.
