چکیده
Abstract Introduction Silver Sulfadiazine is currently the standard treatment for superficial second-degree burns. These burns are common and should not necessarily require hospital treatment. However, caretaking may become an issue: dressing technique always mastered by home health care nurses, their practical realization be more difficult considering surface to treated; duration of can also too long painful. We have evaluated interest a based on natural silk with this indication. Methods In preliminary study, we compared SSD (S) in 2nd degree Following diagnosis, topical used was determined drawing lots. The associated fatty gauze applied then covered dry gauzes bandages. Silk directly lesion Dressings were changed every 48 hours. each after cleansing saline; one left place until healing, only bandages changed. Pain, healing time assessed. Results 80 patients included 25 men, 15 women (7 83years) treated SSD; 22 18 (17 84 years) silk. average area 5% both groups (1% 20% SSD) 23% S). Pain (EVA) between 3 4/10 group 0 2 S group. Dressing 20-30 minutes 10-15 13 days groups. complications, as infections , observed Conclusions flexibility facilitates smooth application all surfaces localisations like SSD. has same that obtained SSD, i.e. physiological allowed shorter treatments, because it technically simple, less painful never exposed air. This reduction analgesics. A larger study confirm managed outpatients, inexperienced even reduce cost effective need painkillers. Applicability Research Practice immediate

Randomized clinical study of Hydrofiber dressing with silver or silver sulfadiazine in the management of partial-thickness burns.
This prospective, randomized study compared protocols of care using either AQUACEL Ag Hydrofiber (ConvaTec, a Bristol-Myers Squibb company, Skillman, NJ) dressing with silver (n = 42) or silver sulfadiazine (n = 42) for up to 21 days in the management of partial-thickness burns covering 5% to 40% body surface area (BSA). AQUACEL Ag dressing was associated with less pain and anxiety during dress...
متن کاملThe effects of honey compared to silver sulfadiazine for the treatment of burns: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials.
Evidence from animal studies and trials suggests that honey may accelerate wound healing. The objective of this review was to assess the effects of honey compared with silver dressings on the healing of burn wounds. Relevant databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of honey compared with silver sulfadiazine (SSD) were searched. The quality of the selected trials was assessed using the ...
متن کاملCost-effectiveness comparison between topical silver sulfadiazine and enclosed silver dressing for partial-thickness burn treatment.
The standard treatment of partial-thickness burns includes topical silver products such as silver sulfadiazine (SSD) cream and enclosed dressings including silver-impregnated foam (Mepilex Ag; Molnlycke Health Care, Gothenburg, Sweden) and silver-laden sheets (Aquacel Ag; ConvaTec, Skillman, NJ). The current state of health care is limited by resources, with an emphasis on evidence-based outcom...

Background: Phototherapy is the most effective treatment for neonatal jaundice and intermittent phototherapy is as effective as continuous phototherapy but with fewer complications and more benefits. This study compared the hospital length of stay, duration of phototherapy and the reducing rate of total serum bilirubin after 24 and 36 hours of phototherapy in two groups. Methods: The current d...
