823 Compliance with TED Stocking Usage in Surgical Patients in ELHT Surgical Wards

Abstract Introduction Anti-embolic stocking (AES) is elastic specifically designed to reduce the risk of VTE events. Multiple studies proved effectiveness AES in reducing DVT hospitalized patients undergoing surgerical procedures. Aim Our Audit aimed examine our doctors' compliance prescribing AES, as well nursing staff's distributing stockings patients. We also at investigating if any discrepancies are present between different surgical wards hospital, or weekdays and weekends. Method Data were collected by bedside observation see they wearing inspecting prescription charts. The data collection occurred over 2 weeks with a random day picked on weekday weekend each week. Each ward was reported separately compare results. After presenting results, poster distributed educate doctors staff about importance true contraindications AES. In addition, sticker indicating added patient's board check. A re-audit done after one month. Results Initially, average 50–70%, while rate 44–84%. No major changes noted days changes, slight improvement but not prescription. Conclusion Educating essential for compliance, addition need repeated audits check sustainability changes.
