A comparative Life Cycle Assessment between recycled aggregate and natural aggregate

The construction industry consumes many natural resources and generates a large amount of waste in the environment, all phases life cycle. For this reason, use recycled material is increasingly being encouraged, instead original raw for production new materials that contribute to closing cycle.
 objective study was evaluate compare environmental impacts obtaining aggregate aggregate, taking Spain as case study. Life cycle assessment (LCA) IMPACT 2002+ method were used calculate impacts. To carry out inventory, primary information obtained subsequently complemented compared with Ecoinvent v2.2 database.
 results show has on evaluated categories. Recycled from reinforced concrete carcinogenic non-carcinogenic effects category. However, it significant savings other Recycling site resulted higher most categories than recycling at plant.
