The proportional odds model (POM) and the non-proportional (NPOM) are very useful in ordinal modeling. However, assumption is often violated practice. In this paper, chosen as an alternative when not violated. This paper aims to compare Proportional Odds Model Non-Proportional cases of birth size Indonesia based on 2017 Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) data. results showed that POM there was a violation assumption, so NPOM used. had better use than POM. goodness fit shows deviance test failed reject H0, value Mac Fadden R2 higher risk factors have significant influence all categories residence gender child.
