چکیده
We present a holistic multiscale approach for constructing anisotropic criteria describing the macroscopic failure of sheet molding compound composites based on full-field simulations microscale damage evolution. use an model that directly operates compliance tensor, captures matrix and bundle via dedicated stress-based allows comparison simulation experimental results. To identify material-parameters used in non-linear time-consuming simulations, we utilize Bayesian optimization with Gaussian processes. validate predictions subsequently distributions taken from findings. propose surfaces stress space stiffness-reduction triggered to cover both structural analysis design process perspective.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
A coarse-grained model for epoxy molding compound.
We present a coarse-grained model for molecular dynamics simulations of an epoxy system composed of epoxy phenol novolac as epoxy monomer and bisphenol-A as the cross-linking agent. The epoxy and hardener molecules are represented as short chains of connected beads, and cross-linking is accomplished by introducing bonds between reactive beads. The interbead potential, composed of Lennard-Jones,...
متن کاملMultiscale Model for Progressive Damage and Failure of Laminated Composites Using an Explicit Finite Element Method
Initial development of a multiscale progressive damage and failure analysis tool for laminated composite structures is presented. The method models microdamage at the lamina level with the thermodynamically based Schapery Theory. Transverse cracking and ber breakage, considered failure mechanisms in this work, are modeled with failure criteria evaluate at the micro-constituent level using the G...
متن کاملNonequilibrium multiscale computational model.
A computational multiscale method is proposed to simulate coupled, nonequilibrium thermomechanical processes. This multiscale framework couples together thermomechanical equations at the coarse scale with nonequilibrium molecular dynamics at the fine scale. The novel concept of distributed coarse scale thermostats enables subsets of fine scale atoms to be attached to different coarse scale node...
متن کاملA New Mathematical Model for Permeability of Composites
Study of permeability of Fibrous Composites is important in several natural and industrial processes in mechanical engineering. In this study, a comprehensive mathematical model is presented for calculation of normal permeability of ordered elliptical fibrous media. An innovative scale-analysis technique is employed for determining the normal permeability of elliptical fibrous media. In this te...
