A Deep Learning Approach for Diabetic Foot Ulcer Classification and Recognition

چکیده
Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the major complications diabetes and results in amputation lower limb if not treated timely properly. Despite traditional clinical approaches used DFU classification, automatic methods based on a deep learning framework show promising results. In this paper, we present several end-to-end CNN-based architectures, i.e., AlexNet, VGG16/19, GoogLeNet, ResNet50.101, MobileNet, SqueezeNet, DenseNet, for infection ischemia categorization using benchmark dataset DFU2020. We fine-tune weight to overcome lack data reduce computational cost. Affine transform techniques are augmentation input data. The indicate that ResNet50 achieves highest accuracy 99.49% 84.76% Ischaemia infection, respectively.

Globally, in 2016, one out of eleven adults suffered from Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU) are a major complication of this disease, which if not managed properly can lead to amputation. Current clinical approaches to DFU treatment rely on patient and clinician vigilance, which has significant limitations such as the high cost involved in the diagnosis, treatment and lengthy care o...
متن کامل[op144] Diabetic Foot Ulcer Classification: Is It a Toss-up?
Aim: Accurate classification of diabetic foot ulcers is essential for inter-clinician communication, assessment of healing tendency, and determination of treatment options. Ulcer classification is performed by many different caregivers involved, but their agreement is unclear. The aim of this study was to assess the inter-observer agreement (IOA) of the most commonly used classification systems...
متن کاملDiabetic foot ulcer: A review
Diabetic foot problems are common throughout the world, resulting in major medical, social and economic consequences for the patients, their families, and society. Foot ulcers are more likely to be of neuropathic origin, and therefore eminently preventable. People at greatest risk of ulceration can easily be identified by careful clinical examination of the feet: education and frequent follow-u...

It is estimated that approximately 15% of diabetic people world-wide will at some stage develop diabetic foot ulceration. The prevalence of active foot ulceration varies from approx‐ imately 1% in certain European and North American studies to more than 11% in reports from some African countries (table 1). Although there have been many developments in recent years which encourage optimism for f...
متن کاملCOMPARISON OF DIABETIC FOOT ULCER HEALING IN DIFFERENT SEVERITY CLASSIFICATION OF NEUROPATHY
Background: Peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common problems in diabetic patients. The increased risk of Diabetic Foot Ulceration (DFU) and amputation would be a complication of diabetic neuropathy. The aim of this study was to compare the DFU healing in different severity classification of neuropathy. Methods: This is a retrospective study that was conducted over a two-year period fro...
