Optical Analyzer for Continuous Monitoring of Dissolved Oxygen in Aviation Fuel and Other Non-aqueous Media
A special sensitive element based on the novel composite material was created. The sensor has a linear calibration and is resistant to aliphatic hydrocarbons, in particular aviation fuel. A low cost and easy-to-implement method for calibrating the sensor was proposed. Temperature dependence of the oxygen mass transfer coefficient kL was measured for aviation fuel TS-1 (Russi...
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen monitoring of patients undergoing nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation
The objective of this study was to assess the changes in transcutaneous oxygen tension in pediatric patients undergoing nitrous oxide-oxygen analgesia. A total of 19 healthy patients, ranging in age from 3 to 19 years with a mean age of 9.8 years, were included. Transcutaneous oxygen monitoring was performed; following stabilization, baseline readings were obtained. Oxygen was delivered at 3 I/...
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen monitoring during fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
A transcutaneous oxygen sensor was used to detect the development of hypoxemia in patients undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Measurements of transcutaneous PO2 (tcPO2) correlated well with arterial PO2 (PaO2), and correctly detected all instances when PaO2 was less than 65 mm Hg. The sensor was noninvasive and caused no adverse effects.
متن کاملInvestigation of the human oesophagus as a new monitoring site for blood oxygen saturation.
Pulse oximeter probes placed peripherally may fail to give accurate values of arterial blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) when peripheral perfusion is poor. Since central blood flow may be preferentially preserved, the oesophagus was suggested as an alternative monitoring site. A reflectance oesophageal photoplethysmographic (PPG) probe and a multiplexed data acquisition system, operating simultane...
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen saturation in sleeping infants: prone and supine.
Pulse oximetry was used to measure transcutaneous arterial oxygen saturation in infants aged 2 to 11 months prone and supine in quiet sleep. Groups of healthy infants (n = 34), infants with upper respiratory tract infections (n = 13), and infants with generalised moderately severe lower respiratory tract infections (n = 17) were studied. No clinically important differences were demonstrated in ...
