A Location and Velocity Prediction-Assisted FANET Networking Scheme for Highly Mobile Scenarios

The proliferation of flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) enables multiple applications in various scenarios. In order to construct and maintain an effective hierarchical structure FANETs where mobile nodes proceed at high mobility, we propose a novel FANET clustering algorithm by using the Kalman-filter-predicted location velocity information. First, use Silhouette coefficient determine number clusters k-means++ method is utilized group into clusters. Regarding external disturbances highly scenarios, Kalman filter used predict locations velocities for all nodes. When clustering, relative speeds together with distances are considered, previous selected cluster heads (CHs) initialize current centroids. Furthermore, two metrics, including stability ratio changed edges, evaluate network performance. Relevant simulation results reveal that our proposal can yield cumulative distribution function (CDF) values close sensor-measurement-based data. Moreover, it reduce communication overheads significantly.
