A Mass Balance-Based Method for the Anaerobic Digestion of Rice Straw

نویسندگان

چکیده

Current rice straw disposal practices have serious repercussions on the environment and, in addition, do not consider its energy potential. On contrary, anaerobic digestion of makes it possible to produce renewable and reintroduce into soil nutrients present digestate, at same time, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from paddies. For different geographical origin, by applying a mass balance method digester, minimum requirements terms conditioners (nitrogen, phosphorus potassium) water, which allow obtaining maximum production methane, were calculated. The results obtained show that after first 30 days (hydraulic retention time) for each ton digested, daily water consumption varies considerably one country another, value 1.5 m3/d 4.3 m3/d. After addition nitrogen is only required optimal Indian straw. low presence these elements requires an 3 kg/d urea superphosphate compensate lack phosphorus, respectively. In all examined cases, concentration potassium, even if higher than value, does reach levels can significantly affect methane production.

Mass and Energy Balances of Dry Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestion Treating Swine Manure Mixed with Rice Straw

To evaluate the feasibility of swine manure treatment by a proposed Dry Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestion (DT-AD) system, we evaluated the methane yield of swine manure treated using a DT-AD method with rice straw under different C/N ratios and solid retention time (SRT) and calculated the mass and energy balances when the DT-AD system is used for swine manure treatment from a model farm with 10...

Effects of Ammoniation Pretreatment at Low Moisture Content on Anaerobic Digestion Performance of Rice Straw

The effect of ammonia pretreatment on the anaerobic digestion performance of rice straw was investigated. The rice straw was pretreated with four different moisture contents (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%) and three concentrations of ammonia (2%, 4%, and 6%). The results showed that the anaerobic digestion achieved best performance for the rice straw pretreated by ammonia concentration of 4% and moist...

Studies on the anaerobic decomposition of plant materials: The anaerobic decomposition of rice straw (Oryza sativa).

THE aerobic decomposition of plant materials has in recent years attracted much attention, on account of its importance in the formation of synthetic manure, in the decomposition of soil organic matter, in the purification of sewage and trade wastes, in the decay of wood etc., but comparatively little is known regarding the course and rate of decomposition under anaerobic an,d partially aerobic...

Anaerobic codigestion of sewage sludge and rice straw

We investigated the feasibility of anaerobic codigestion of sewage sludge and rice straw. Laboratory-scale mesophilic and thermophilic digesters were operated with hydraulic retention times of 20 and 15 days, respectively. The feeding ratio of sewage sludge and rice straw was 1:0.5 based on the total solids (TS). Before digestion, the rice straw was ground to ca. 5 mm in length (grinding pretre...
