A miniaturized and self-packaged Gysel power divider with embedded metamaterials in SISL platform

This paper presents a self-packaged Gysel power divider (PD) with embedded metamaterials in substrate integrated suspended Line (SISL) platform. Metamaterials are formed by periodic arrangement of I-shaped electrical resonators that can produce high dielectric constants and encapsulated the multi-layer SISL structure to reduce circuit size. Fabricated using standard printed board (PCB) process, proposed PD is self-packaged. The meandering line introduced layout be downsized. designed operates from 3.3 3.6 GHz bandwidth 14.8% for S11 < -20 dB. Compared case where not embedded, area reduced about 61%.
