A Motion Model of a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle: CFD Simulation

The article is directly related to the authors’ previous study of remotely operated underwater vehicle’s (ROV) motion, where mathematical model ROV motion derived for laminar flow water. This solution has been improved by using three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation that allows simulating turbulent flow, which mainly generated propellers. Both methods were coupled obtain more accurate values hydrodynamic damping coefficients determination velocity. Results are discussed and some them compared with experiment.
