A multi-user collaborative BIM-AR system to support design and construction

Augmented Reality (AR) is fast becoming an established tool for the construction industry. Previous research reports on conversion of BIM geometric models and implementation these with marker-based AR, or use more wide area AR taking positional input from GPS. Much this focused in individual context, so there need to align collaborative nature BIM. By implementing connecting a cloud-based database, presented BIM-AR system provides ability view, interact collaborate 3D 2D data via geographically dispersed teams. An Agile Scrum Method was used develop prototype including mobile application Large Touch Screen based Model, View, Controller (MVC) approach. Finally, tested verified using focus group practitioners. • Development framework synchronous data. A (BIM-AR) allowing teams same environment. Creation that can support communication database. Enhanced process collaboration through marker large multi touch screen devices. Provides environment ‘mark up’
