A Multiscale Flow Battery Modeling Approach Using Mass Transfer Coefficients

چکیده

A novel multiscale flow battery simulation approach is presented. Therefore, the mass transfer coefficient (MTC) extracted from 3D-resolved microscale simulations, transferred to homogenized cell scale and compared empirical formulations literature. The models are parameterized with an organic system experimentally validated on microscale. It resolves real geometry of electrode microstructure obtained by experimental image reconstruction microtomography. accounts for flow, mass, coupled charge transport using Butler–Volmer kinetics. suitable study power density as a function concentration, velocity, discharge rate. Turbulent Events and Gas-Side Mass Transfer Coefficients in a Wavy Air-Water Stratified Flow

Turbulence structure on the gas side of a wavy stratified flow was experimentally investigated in a near horizontal 18.7 cm (H) 10 cm (W) 5.5m (L) rectangular duct.By applying the Variable Interval Time Averaging (VITA) technique to the hot wire anemometer measurements frequency of occurrence of turbulent events were detected near the air-water interface. Experimental results showed that fr...

Mass Transfer Coefficients in Cross-flow Ultrafiltration

Usually, in concentration polarization models, the mass transfer coefficient is an unknown parameter. Also, its variation with changing experimental circumstances is in question. In the literature, many relationships can be found to describe the mass transfer coefficient under various conditions, as well as various corrections for deviating behaviour during ultrafiltration. To obtain reliable m...

Computer Modeling of Multiscale Fluid Flow and Heat and Mass Transfer in Engineered Spaces

Design and analysis of fluid flow and heat and mass transfer in engineered spaces require information of spatial scales ranging from 10 m to 10 m and time scales from 10 s to 10 s. The studies of such a multiscale problem often use multiple computer models, while each of computer models is applied to a small range of spatial and time scales. Accurate solution normally requires exchanging inform...

Flow Analysis Heat and Mass Transfer in a Room

This reports the study on the flow behaviour, heat transfer and contamination distribution in a room. For this purpose the 3-D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, energy equation and a mass transfer equation which model the concentration of contamination have been applied. For turbulence simulation the two equation standard k-  turbulence model was employed. By means of SIMPLE algorithm the...
