A New Affinely Adjustable Robust Model for Security Constrained Unit Commitment under Uncertainty

Currently, optimization models for the safe and reliable operation of power systems deal with two major challenges: first one is reduction computational load when considering N−1 contingencies; second adequate modeling uncertainty intermittent generation demand. This paper proposes a new affinely adjustable robust model to solve security constrained unit commitment problem these sources uncertainty. Linear decision rules, which take into account forecasts forecast errors different uncertainty, are used affine formulation dispatch variables, thus allowing tractability model. Another novelty that evaluation constraints performed by incorporating novel method, proposed in literature, based on user-cuts concept. method efficiently dynamically adds only binding constraints, increasing efficiency transmission line contingencies considered. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations post-optimization results were run demonstrate effectiveness, feasibility robustness solutions provided
