A New Asymmetric Cascaded Multilevel Converter Topology With Reduced Voltage Stress and Number of Switches

This paper presents a new structure of multilevel inverter with fewer components, which is suitable for renewable energy sources and industrial loads applications. The has three unequal input ten switches that can generate 15-level output voltage. Furthermore, it be connected in cascade increasing, even more, the number levels main feature proposed its very low harmonic distortion at voltage current due to control method, based on nearest level method generating high-quality A typical application this solar cells wind turbines. Both simulations Matlab/Simulink experimental results scaled-down prototype validate theoretical analysis.
