A new method for calculating average visibility from the relationship between extinction coefficient and visibility

Abstract. Visibility data are fundamental meteorological observation widely used in many fields. When using visibility data, it is often necessary to calculate the average visibility, which be arithmetic of directly. In this study, we first analyze relationship between extinction coefficient, and atmospheric compositions. Then propose use harmonic as can better reflect changes coefficients aerosol concentrations. It recommended studies climate change, radiation, air pollution, environmental health, etc.
