A New Method for Wet-Dry Front Treatment in Outburst Flood Simulation

When utilizing a finite volume method to predict outburst flood evolution in real geometry, the processing of wet-dry front and dry cells is an important step. In this paper, we propose new approach process cells, including four steps: (1) estimating intercell properties; (2) modifying interface elevation; (3) calculating cell elevations by averaging elevations; (4) changing value first term slope limiter based on geometry cells. The Harten, Lax, van Leer with contact wave restored (HLLC) scheme was implemented calculate flux. By combining MUSCL (Monotone Upstream–centred Scheme for Conservation Laws)-Hancock minmod limiter, achieved second-order accuracy space time. This able keep conservation property (C-property) mass complex bed geometry. results numerical tests study are consistent experimental data, which verifies effectiveness approach. could be applied acquire wetting drying processes during structured meshes.
