A Novel Light-Emitting Diode Streetlight Driver Circuit Applied to a Direct Current-Input Voltage Source

With the global advocacy of green lighting and urgent need for energy saving carbon reduction, more street applications have entered era being replaced by light-emitting diode (LED) sources. This paper presents a new LED streetlight driving circuit applied to direct current (DC)-input voltage source, which consists buck converter combined with flyback reduce number components required recover leakage transformer improve conversion efficiency. In addition, this study also completed analysis operational principle circuit, developed prototype driver DC-input 48V output power 72 W (36 V/2 A). Finally, measurement results show that ripple rate was less than 15%, 6%, efficiency as high 91%.
