A phase diagram for a stochastic reaction diffusion system
In this paper a stochastic reaction diffusion system is considered, which models the spread of a finite population reacting with a non-renewable resource in the presence of individual based noise. A two-parameter phase diagram is established to describe the large time evolution, distinguishing between certain death or possible life of the population.
متن کاملReaction-Diffusion Stochastic Lattice Model for a Predator-Prey System
We have the purpose of analyzing the effect of explicit diffusion processes in a predator-prey stochastic lattice model. More precisely we wish to investigate the possible effects due to diffusion upon the thresholds of coexistence of species, i. e., the possible changes in the transition between the active state and the absorbing state devoid of predators. To accomplish this task we have perfo...
متن کاملResonant phase patterns in a reaction-diffusion system
Resonance regions similar to the Arnol'd tongues found in single oscillator frequency locking are observed in experiments using a spatially extended periodically forced Belousov-Zhabotinsky system. We identify six distinct 2:1 subharmonic resonant patterns and describe them in terms of the position-dependent phase and magnitude of the oscillations. Some experimentally observed features are also...
متن کاملPhase Transition in a Three-States Reaction-Diffusion System
A one-dimensional reaction-diffusion model consisting of two species of particles and vacancies on a ring is introduced. The number of particles in one species is conserved while in the other species it can fluctuate because of creation and annihilation of particles. It has been shown that the model undergoes a continuous phase transition from a phase where the currents of different species of ...
متن کاملFast-reaction asymptotics for a two-scale reaction-diffusion system
We investigate a reaction–diffusion process in a two-phase medium with microscopic length scale ε. The diffusion coefficients in the two phases are highly different (d1/D = ε2) and the reaction constant k is large. First, the homogenisation limit ε → 0 is taken, which leads to a two-scale model. Afterwards, we pass to the fast-reaction limit k →∞ and obtain a two-scale reaction-diffusion system...
