Signals in the terahertz range are mainly wireless, waveguide-bound or on-chip signals. To measure their spectral power, linewidth and harmonics, usually spectrum analyzers used. Here we present a photonic analyzer for signals frequency from 450 GHz to 1.05 THz with possibility extend its operation Therefore, photonically generated local oscillator is used downconvert signal under test within photoconductor. A Vivaldi antenna feeds dielectric waveguide This allows measurement of any that can be transported via waveguide. We show details on transition rectangular metallic hollow measurements source. The same also attach waveguide-coupled ground-source-ground probes order characterize sources.

We investigate the modes of coupled waveguides in a hexagonal photonic crystal. We find that for a substantial parameter range the coupled waveguide modes have dispersion relations exhibiting multiple intersections, which we explain both intuitively and using a rigorous tight-binding argument.
