A Rare Case of Charcot-Leyden Crystals In liver biopsy in a 14-Year-Old Boy with Persistent Fever and Miliary Infiltrates

The presence of Charcot-Leyden Crystals in liver biopsy is rare. A report case a 14-year-old boy who presented with persistent fever and respiratory symptoms. Chest X-ray CT thorax showed miliary infiltrates. Mantoux test was positive sputum for acid-fast bacilli (AFB) negative. patient started antitubercular therapy (ATT). There no response the still had fever. Further evaluation an ultrasound abdomen revealed multiple small abscesses septic emboli spleen. Since non-responsive to antibiotics, from lesion suggested. Biopsy crystals granulomas. Patient diagnosed as systemic parasitic infestation. Albendazole under steroid cover prescribed afebrile on follow-up. It concluded that CLCs specimen rare but may be cause underlying Early diagnosis treatment antiparasitic drugs can lead favorable outcome.
