A reducibility criterion for generalized principal series.

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the reducibility of representations of semisimple Lie groups induced from discrete series representations of parabolic subgroups, when the inducing parameters are nonsingular.

A Criterion for Reducibility of Matrices

The problem of existence and characterization of non-trivial reducing subspaces for a given matrix is studied employing some basic tools of multilinear algebra. A criterion for reducibility of a single matrix is obtained which is also extended to the case of simultaneous reduction of two or more matrices.

GENERALIZED PRINCIPAL IDEAL THEOREM FOR MODULES

The Generalized Principal Ideal Theorem is one of the cornerstones of dimension theory for Noetherian rings. For an R-module M, we identify certain submodules of M that play a role analogous to that of prime ideals in the ring R. Using this definition, we extend the Generalized Principal Ideal Theorem to modules.

On Discrete Series Subrepresentations of the Generalized Principal Series

We study a family of the generalized principal series and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which the induced representation of studied form contains a discrete series subquotient. Furthermore, we show that if the generalized principal series which belongs to the studied family has a discrete series subquotient, then it has a discrete series subrepresentation.

Holomorphic Continuation of Generalized Jacquet Integrals for Degenerate Principal Series

This paper introduces a class of parabolic subgroups of real reductive groups (called “very nice”). For these parabolic subgroups we study the generalized Whittaker vectors for their degenerate principal series. It is shown that there is a holomorphic continuation of the Jacquet integrals associated with generic characters of their unipotent radicals. Also, in this context an analogue of the “m...
