Abstract Labyrinth weirs are complex hydraulic structures. They have been widely used as a water regulator and to increase discharge in channels spillway dams. an economical effective method pass large floods. In addition, they reduce the requirements of structural footprint. These features make them interesting appropriate choice capacity discharge. Several factors affect performance labyrinth weirs, including level crest height ratio, angle sidewalls, apex width, conveyance channel conditions, vertical aspect ratio. The present paper aims summarise most relevant knowledge characteristics reported previous articles. importance study is provide better understanding how these operate, addition which future studies deserve further investigation. results demonstrated that some parameters still need Also, energy dissipation over weir needs investigation with different geometry.
