A scalable geometrical model for musculotendon units
Physics-based simulation of systems such as virtual humans has benefited from recent advances in muscle actuation. However, to be manageable for motion controllers, muscles are usually solely represented by their action line, a polyline that does not include data on the tridimensional geometry of the muscle. This paper focuses on combining, by a controllable enhancement process, a functional an...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
A three dimensional geometrical model for calculation of induced stresses surrounding longwall working
There are various criteria that need to be examined alongside each other when designing a longwall mining system. Challenges such as determination of the supported roof width, support system design, caving height determination, lateral or chain pillar size determination, and optimum support design for the main gate and tail gate roadways have to be tackled for this aim. Three-dimensional analys...
متن کاملA Simple Geometrical Model for Solid Frictiont
We present a simple model for the friction of two solid bodies moving against each other. In a self consistent way we can obtain the dependence of the macro-scopic friction force as a function of the driving velocity, the normal force and the ruggedness of the surfaces in contact. Our results are discussed in the context of friction laws used in earthquake models.
