Heat emissions from buildings are part of anthropogenic heat leading to urban overheating. This paper aims assess how technologies (i.e., energy conservation measures - ECMs), used decrease use, may also reduce buildings. study employs the physics-based engine EnergyPlus simulate main components ambient air: envelope, zone, and systems. Hourly simulations run for IECC single- multi-family reference models with three representative climates: Miami, Baltimore, Chicago. The results show that performance ECMs varies among weather, seasons, residential typologies. Particularly, some cool coatings, pumps, additional insulation, energy-awareness occupants) a strong in emissions, yet they not always correlated proportional decreases use. When all combined, reductions larger on (89%) than site (65%) base cases. During summer combination shows building surface component 80% during daytime, 92% HVAC counterbalanced increase zone 88%, bringing daily total emissions. contributions this quantifying typical influence using informing planners stakeholders prioritizing mitigating overheating problems.

Odors are emitted from a variety of sources in swine production facilities. A large quantity of odorants can be emitted from manure handling and storage facilities. However, swine production buildings can also emit significant levels of odorants. This is especially true if manure is held within the buildings for periods exceeding 4-5 days. Manure also sticks to floors, walls, equipment, and pig...

A Novel Diesel Fuel Additive to Improve Fuel Properties and to Reduce Emissions
Global air pollution is a serious threat caused by excessive use of fossil fuels for transportation. Despite the fact that diesel fuel is a big environmental pollutant as it contains different hydrocarbons, sulphur and crude oil residues, it is yet regarded as a highly critical fuel due to its wide applications. Nowadays, biodiesel as a renewable additive is blended with diesel fuel to achie...
