چکیده

This paper presents a literature survey of more than twenty years on AC/DC multilevel converters with reduced switch count, in which some power switches can be removed letting only diodes. simplification reduces the number gate drivers, cost and complexity system. In this work, considered topologies are derived from conventional configurations literature: Neutral Point Clamped, Cascaded H-Bridge, Flying Capacitor, Modular Multilevel Converter T-Type. article is divided five sections, each one papers previously mentioned. section, there up to maximum four subsections, considering main focus contribution: hybrid topologies, control techniques, analysis hardware design. At end summary table concerning referenced shown containing comparison information among presented references terms of: components per phase studied converter, applied modulation technique, suggested application given by authors, converter’s output respective efficiency point operation. With extensive bibliography serves as very good reference researchers interested topic initiate their work or update studies. Also, applications authors give direction fit best different applications.

A Simplified PWM Technique for Reduced Switch Count Multilevel Inverter

Received Sep 19, 2017 Revised Dec 30, 2017 Accepted Jan 17, 2018 Penetration of multilevel inverters (MLI) in to high power and medium voltage application has been increasing because of its advantages. A conventional two level inverter has high harmonic distortion which gives poor power quality. Lot of topologies has been developed to overcome the drawbacks of two level inverter. These topologi...

A Simplified Topology for Seven Level Modified Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Switch Count Technique

In this paper, a seven level modified cascaded multilevel inverter is proposed for industrial drive applications. Apart from selecting the conventional level inverters, Multi level inverters has been chosen for the industrial drive applications as it reduces the total harmonic distortion. The involvement of higher number of switches increases the complexity of the system, which leads to losses ...

State Space Modeling and Implementation of a New Transformer Based Multilevel Inverter Topology with Reduced Switch Count

This paper presents a new transformer based multilevel inverter, with a novel pulse width modulation scheme to achieve seven-level inverter output voltage. The proposed inverter switching pattern consists of three fundamental frequency sinusoidal reference signals with an offset value, and one high frequency triangular carrier signal. This switching scheme has been implemented using an 8-bit Xi...

Hardware Implementation of Cascaded Hybrid MLI with Reduced Switch Count

This paper presents the comparison of various multicarrier Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques for the Cascaded Hybrid Multi Level Inverter (CHBMLI). Due to switch combination redundancies, there are certain degrees of freedom to generate the five level AC output voltage. This paper presents the use of Control Freedom Degree (CFD) combination. The effectiveness of the PWM strategies develop...

Performance Evaluation of 3Φ Asymmetrical MLI with Reduced Switch Count

The multi level inverter system is habitually exploited in AC drives, when both reduced harmonic contents and high power are required. In this paper, a new topology for three phase asymmetrical multilevel inverter employing reduced number of switches is introduced. With less number of switches, the cost, space and weight of the circuit are automatically reduced. This paper discusses the new top...
