چکیده

Provision of safe drinking water, devoid aetiologies, is an all-time challenge due to the usage unsafe chemicals in most water treatment processes. The main objective present paper evaluate use Moringa oleifera (MO) as a natural coagulant coagulation/flocculation (C/F) followed by ultrafiltration (UF) Final Effluent Treatment Plant wastewater which can also be employed alternative conventional methods treatment. Process efficiency was evaluated terms chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical (BOD), turbidity, total hardness, alkalinity, ammoniacal nitrogen, and zeta potential along with permeability fouling behaviour membrane. A significant improvement both physical characteristics effluent quality showing clearer colour greater reduction BOD (89.74%) COD (63.80%) values, while pH acceptable range for disposal. results indicate lower membrane rate (49%), increase permeate flow, better permeate, proving that C/F-UF effective efficient technique Eventually, treated obtained this process generates preserves aquatic ecosystem.

The effects of the natural coagulant Moringa oleifera and alum in wastewater treatment at the Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery

Background: The refining process generates large volumes of wastewater containing a variety of chemical contaminants. The use of natural substitutes in treating wastewater which have fewer harmful effects is considered an effective step towards protecting the environment and sustaining the development of these industries. This study focused on the use of Moringa oleifera and alum at t...

Innovative physico-chemical treatment of wastewater incorporating Moringa oleifera seed coagulant.

Moringa oleifera is a pan tropical, multipurpose tree whose seeds contain a high quality edible oil (up to 40% by weight) and water soluble proteins that act as effective coagulants for water and wastewater treatment. The use of this natural coagulant material has not yet realised its potential. A water extract of M. oleifera seed was applied to a wastewater treatment sequence comprising coagul...

Coagulant and antibacterial activities of the water-soluble seed lectin from Moringa oleifera.

AIMS The aim of this work was to analyse the coagulant and antibacterial activities of lectin isolated from Moringa oleifera seeds that are used for water treatment. METHODS AND RESULTS The water-soluble M. oleifera lectin (WSMoL) was separated from nonhemagglutinating components (NHC) by chitin chromatography. WSMoL fluorescence spectrum was not altered in the presence of ions that are often...

Isolation and characterization of coagulant extracted from Moringa oleifera seed by salt solution.

It is known that M. oleifera contains a natural coagulant in the seeds. In our previous research, the method using salt water to extract the active coagulation component from M. oleifera seeds was developed and compared with the conventional method using water. In this research, the active coagulation component was purified from a NaCl solution crude extract of Moringa oleifera seeds. The activ...
