A thermal trade?off between viral production and degradation drives virus?phytoplankton population dynamics

چکیده
Marine viruses interact with microbial hosts in dynamic environments shaped by variation abiotic factors, including temperature. However, the impacts of temperature on viral infection phytoplankton are not well understood. Here we coupled mathematical modelling experiments to explore effect virus-phytoplankton interactions. Our model shows negative consequences high temperatures and suggests a temperature-dependent threshold between production degradation. Modelling long-term dynamics different average revealed potential for host-virus coexistence, epidemic free or habitat loss states. We generalised our global sea surface corresponding present future seas show that climate change may differentially influence virus-host depending pair. Temperature-dependent changes infectivity virus particles lead shifts habitats warmer oceans, analogous projected macro-, microorganisms pathogens.

cohesion and cohesive devices in a contrastive analysis between ge and esp texts
the present study was an attempt to conduct a contrastive analysis between general english (ge) and english for specific purposes (esp) texts in terms of cohesion and cohesive devices. to this end, thirty texts from different esp and ge textbooks were randomly selected. then they were analyzed manually to find the frequency of cohesive devices. cohesive devices include reference, substitution, ...

Ecological change provokes speciation and extinction, but our knowledge of the interplay among the biotic and abiotic drivers of macroevolution remains limited. Using the unparalleled fossil record of Cenozoic macroperforate planktonic foraminifera, we demonstrate that macroevolutionary dynamics depend on the interaction between species' ecology and the changing climate. This interplay drives d...
متن کاملGlobal climate drives southern right whale (Eubalaena australis) population dynamics.
Sea surface temperature (SST) time-series from the southwest Atlantic and the El Niño 4 region in the western Pacific were compared to an index of annual calving success of the southern right whale (Eubalaena australis) breeding in Argentina. There was a strong relationship between right whale calving output and SST anomalies at South Georgia in the autumn of the previous year and also with mea...

When wood is exposed to elevated temperatures, changes can occur in its chemical structure that affect its performance. The extent of the changes depends on the temperature level and the length of time under exposure conditions. The changes in chemical structure may be manifested only as reduced strength, and hydroscopic water and volatile oil weight loss. In contrast, very drastic chemical cha...
