A verified solution of friction factor in compression test based on its sample's shape changes

چکیده

The friction factor is a key input for “barrel compression test” and meaningful interpretation of the test data. Despite its widespread use, due to complexity problem, there are very few solutions available test, let alone factor. Extended-Avitzur (EA) model has serious known limitations calculate To estimate more reliably, closed-form solution been proposed here. based on “Exponential Profile Model” (EPM) provides an instantaneous value It simply relies sample's initial deformed dimensions. Unlike existing experimental procedures, integrates results identification single set load-displacement-barreling Merits were highlighted compared those conventional Cylindrical Models (CPMs). A finite element was developed as reference produce pseudo-experimental data verify presented solution. deformation used in EPM EA factors by each compare them with benchmark. Contrary EA's estimated factors, identified good agreement values. Recommendations provided identify zone at which EPM's can be meaningfully.

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Shape Optimization in Contact Problems with Coulomb Friction and a Solution-Dependent Friction Coefficient

The present paper deals with shape optimization in discretized two-dimensional (2D) contact problems with Coulomb friction, where the coefficient of friction is assumed to depend on the unknown solution. Discretization of the continuous state problem leads to a system of finite-dimensional implicit variational inequalities, parametrized by the so-called design variable, that determines the shap...

Application of T-shape Friction T test for Ti-6Al-4V Alloy at Elevated Temperatures

There are several parameters that have significant influence in metal forming process. One of the most important of them is friction coefficient. Friction can change the pattern of metal flow and the force needed for deformation. It is necessary to determine the friction coefficient to study the effect of friction on metal forming process. This study is concerned with numerical and experimental...

Numerical Solution of 2D Contact Shape Optimization Problems Involving a Solution-Dependent Coefficient of Friction

This contribution deals with numerical solution of shape optimization problems in frictional contact mechanics. The state problem in our case is given by 2D static Signorini problems with Tresca friction and a solution-dependent coefficient of friction. A suitable Lipschitz continuity assumption on the coefficient of friction is made, ensuring unique solvability of the discretized state problem...
