چکیده
Background In Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), the presence of rheumatoid factor (RF) indicate poor prognosis. Strategies searching biomarkers that predict response to biologic therapies allowing selection patients with highest chance for are pertinent. Whether RF is a biomarker RTX disputed. [1] Objectives To investigate whether high (3 times normal) predictive good therapeutic in RA treated Rituximab (RTX). Methods We conducted Retrospective study single rheumatology hospital Morocco. All satisfied ACR-EULAR 2010 classification criteria. Socio-demographic data, comorbidities, disease-related variables (duration, characteristics, and drugs) were collected. The endpoint was decrease DAS28 greater than 1.2 at 6 month after therapy. Statistical analysis performed SPSS 20. Results included 129 mean age 58.45 ± 11.99 years. sex ratio F/M 8:1. duration 17.73 8.34 diagnosis 44.13 13.91 years, 87% seropositive. positivity ACPA 82% 69% respectively. highly elevated 48.4% patients. bivariate analysis, strong significantly associated as assessed by (p=0.002), initial IgM level (p= 0.018). Conclusion our study, positive had better DAS28. These results should be taken into account when making choices. Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of anovulatory infertility in women of reproductive age, affecting 7% of this population. Although not entirely understood, the etiology of PCOS is closely linked to obesity and abdominal adiposity that are considered to worsen the clinical presentation, particularly menstrual irregularities and hyperandrogenism. Lifestyle mo...
متن کاملNK cell count as predictor of clinical response in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with rituximab [Corrigendum]
PURPOSE The relationship between antiCD20 therapy with rituximab and the lymphocytes phenotype in patients with rheumatoid arthritis was investigated, with an attempt to establish a relationship between commonly used clinical activity indices and variations in leukocyte count, in particular natural killer (NK) lymphocytes. METHODS Patients with seropositive (cyclic citrullinated peptides and ...
متن کاملValidating MARK2 Gene Polymorphism as a Predictor of Response to Lithium Treatment in Bipolar Patients
Background: Lithium is a therapeutic option for the treatment of the acute phase of the bipolar disorder and long-term management of this disorder. However, it is estimated that 10 to 60% of patients do not properly response to this medication. Methods: To investigate the role of MARK2 gene in response to lithium, we genotyped the MARK2 rs10792421 polymorphism in Iranian bipolar pa...
متن کاملSoluble CD30 in early rheumatoid arthritis as a predictor of good response to second-line therapy.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether serum levels of the soluble form of CD30 (sCD30) correlate with disease activity in early rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and may have prognostic value in predicting the response to disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). METHODS The levels of sCD30 and C-reactive protein (CRP) were measured in the serum of 14 untreated subjects with early RA, before and durin...
متن کاملA rheumatoid factor paradox: inhibition of rituximab effector function
INTRODUCTION Rituximab (RTX) therapy of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) exhibits enhanced effectiveness in seropositive patients. Using patient sera, we tested if this improved efficacy was associated with enhanced RTX mediated complement-dependent cytotoxicity (RTX-CDC). METHODS We developed an in vitro assay for RTX-CDC using patient sera and the Daudi human B cell line. Using propidium iodide up...
