چکیده

Objective To test the prognostic value of brain MRI in addition to clinical and electrophysiologic variables patients post–cardiac arrest (CA), we explored data from randomized Neuroprotect Post-CA trial ( NCT02541591 ). Methods In this trial, MRIs were prospectively obtained. We calculated receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves for average apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) percentage voxels with an ADC <650 × 10 −6 mm 2 /s <450 /s. constructed multivariable logistic regression models characteristics, EEG, somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), as independent predict good neurologic recovery. Results 79/102 patients, available 58/79 all other available. At 180 days post-CA, 25/58 (43%) had univariable analysis tested measures, postcentral cortex highest accuracy recovery, area under ROC curve (AUC) 0.78. most optimal model, which also included corneal reflexes measure remained predictor recovery (AUC 0.96, false-positive 27%). This model provided a more accurate prediction compared combination reflexes, SSEP p = 0.03). Conclusions Adding information on may improve post-CA. Classification Evidence study provides Class III evidence that features

Brain Gray Matter MRI Morphometry for Neuroprognostication After Cardiac Arrest

OBJECTIVES We hypothesize that the combined use of MRI cortical thickness measurement and subcortical gray matter volumetry could provide an early and accurate in vivo assessment of the structural impact of cardiac arrest and therefore could be used for long-term neuroprognostication in this setting. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. SETTING Five Intensive Critical Care Units affiliated to t...

Value of Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Values in Differentiating Malignant and Benign Breast Lesions.

BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become a diagnostic and problem solving method for the breast examinations in addition to conventional breast examination methods. Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) adds valuable information to conventional MRI. AIMS Our aim was to show the impact of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values acquired with DWI to differentiate benign and maligna...

The Role of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging and the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) Values for Breast Tumors

OBJECTIVE We wanted to evaluate the role of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) for detecting breast tumors, as compared with the T1- and T2-weighted images. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-one female patients underwent breast MRI, and this included the T1-, T2-, DWI and dynamic contrast-enhanced images. Sixty-five enhancing lesions were detected on the d...

Diffusion-weighted imaging of the parotid gland: Influence of the choice of b-values on the apparent diffusion coefficient value.

PURPOSE To determine how the ADC value of parotid glands is influenced by the choice of b-values. MATERIALS AND METHODS In eight healthy volunteers, diffusion-weighted echo-planar imaging (DW-EPI) was performed on a 1.5 T system, with b-values (in seconds/mm2) of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 500, 750, and 1000. ADC values were calculated by two alternative methods (exponential vs. logarith...

The added value of apparent diffusion coefficient to cerebral blood volume in the preoperative grading of diffuse gliomas.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE In cerebral gliomas, rCBV correlates with tumor grade and histologic findings of vascular proliferation. Moreover, ADC assesses water diffusivity and is inversely correlated with tumor grade. In the present work, we have studied whether combined rCBV and ADC values improve the diagnostic accuracy of MR imaging in the preoperative grading of gliomas. MATERIALS AND METHOD...
