چکیده

Abstract A new manufacturing wave concerning the Additive Manufacturing of sensors is spreading: several benefits, such as cost, time, and manual task reduction, can be achieved. The aim present research one-shot a low-cost capacitive sensor for liquid level sensing. Material extrusion (MeX) technology was used to fabricate proposed (composed flexible substrate, two conductive electrodes, top coverage), Design (DfAM) approach in conjunction with 3D printing force analysis performed. Very thin tracks (0.5 mm) were manufactured obtain having final capacitance value 125 pF, readable by common laboratory instrumentation. has been tested sensing using different liquids, i.e., sunflower oil distilled water, exhibiting very good sensitivity 0.078 $$\frac{pF}{mm}$$ pF mm 0.79 , respectively, high repeatability, thus obtaining performances comparable that more expensive found literature. Moreover, showed linearity (R 2 ? 0.997), which resulted maximum propagated error 1.4 mm. proves inexpensive MeX successfully employed fabrication high-performance sensors: cost (related raw materials) 0.38 €, no assembly tasks This study lays foundation smart structures on board, saving time cost.

Binp Capacitive and Ultrasonic Hydrostatic Level Sensors

Slow ground motion study for future accelerator projects and alignment of large accelerator machine components with high accuracy are important tasks now. One of the prevalent tool for solution of these tasks are Hydrostatic Level Sensors designed to work into the Hydrostatic Levelling System, which is based on principle of communicating vessels. All water level measuring sensors are linked to ...

Spoofing Capacitive Fingerprint Sensors

This white paper discusses methods and findings from one of Novetta’s many approaches to vulnerability assessment: the fabrication of non-gelatinous artifacts for capacitive fingerprint sensors. We present methods of evaluating artifact performance relative to that of live presentations and gummy fingerprint artifacts. Two sets of artifacts are comprised of latex face paint or acrylic fabric pa...

Fully-Differential Capacitive Sensors

Although sensors used in the majority of high-performance seismometers are capacitive, the performance of present commercial instruments is less than what it could be--due to the choice of less-than-optimal electrode configurations. The detector in commercial instruments has only one-half the symmetry of the patented symmetric differential capacitive (SDC) transducer, also known as 'fully diffe...

Capacitive sensors for detecting proximity and response.

We have implemented an inexpensive circuit that indicates when a subject is in close proximity to a specified area of arbitrary shape and size. The circuit can transform an easily created metal surface or a preexisting metal object into an experimental sensor. The subject need not make physical contact with the sensor to activate the mechanism, which enables the detection of subjects through no...
