چکیده
Poor adherence to antihypertensive therapy is a major cause of poor blood pressure (BP) control in patients with hypertension. Regimen simplification may improve and BP control. This systematic review assessed whether single-pill combination (SPC) led improved adherence, persistence, better compared free-equivalent (FEC) PubMed, Medline, Embase, the Cochrane Library were searched until July 2020, addition manual searching relevant congress abstracts from 2014 2020 for studies including adults hypertension aged ≥18 years receiving SPC or FEC measuring any following: reductions systolic and/or diastolic BP. Adherence persistence summarized narrative analysis; direct pair-wise meta-analysis was conducted compare versus using fixed-effect random-effects models. Following screening, 44 included. The majority (18 23) showed significantly SPCs FECs. Overall, 16 measured which 14 that had less likely discontinue than Systolic (mean difference, −3.99 [95% CI, −7.92 −0.07]; P =0.05) (−1.54 −2.67 −0.41]; =0.0076) both reduced at week 12. leads lead

Additivity of nebivolol/valsartan single‐pill combinations versus other single‐pill combinations for hypertension
The single-pill combination (SPC) comprising nebivolol (5 mg), a vasodilatory β1 -selective antagonist/β3 -agonist, and valsartan (80 mg), a renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitor, is the only Food and Drug Administration-approved β-blocker/renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitor SPC for hypertension. Additive effects of four nebivolol/valsartan SPC doses (5 mg/80 mg, 5/160 mg, 1...
متن کاملAdherence to HIV combination therapy.
The emergence of drug-resistant strains of HIV virus and treatment failure can result from non-adherence to antiretroviral therapy. While non-adherence to therapy is not a new issue or specific to HIV/AIDS, it has received renewed attention because of the complicated combination treatment regimens being prescribed. This paper reviews the relevant background literature on the contributions of so...
متن کاملAdherence and health care costs with single-pill fixed-dose combinations in hypertension management.
There have been major advances in the understanding of the pathophysiology and treatment of hypertension; however, blood pressure (BP) control in the United States remains suboptimal. Data from the latest National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) indicate that 33% of U.S. adults 20 years of age and older have hypertension. Of these, only 82% are aware that they have hypertension...
متن کاملProsthetic joint infections: single versus combination therapy.
Prosthetic joint replacement is increasingly used to alleviate pain and increase mobility. Bone and joint infections remain a therapeutic dilemma for healthcare providers in all fields. Antimicrobial agents combined with appropriate surgical techniques play a vital role in eradicating infections associated with prosthetic joints. The question still remains whether monotherapy or combination the...
متن کاملSingle-Pill Combination of Perindopril/Indapamide/Amlodipine in Patients with Uncontrolled Hypertension: A Randomized Controlled Trial
INTRODUCTION Patients with hypertension often require a combination of three antihypertensive agents to achieve blood pressure control, but very few single-pill triple combinations are available. The aim of this study was to determine whether a single-pill triple combination of perindopril, indapamide, and amlodipine was as effective as a dual-pill combination of perindopril/indapamide plus sep...
